Ebeltoft town is an old sea trading town that got its trading town rights in 1301. The town celebrated its 700th anniversary in 2001, but it is actually even older. The town's pride is the town hall, which dates from 1789 and is still used for weddings both at home and abroad. The city's pedestrian streets are cobbled, have beautiful half-timbered houses and have numerous shops and restaurants. Down by the harbor is the Glass Museum, a new glass blowing factory, cafes, restaurants and the Frigate Jylland.
